"Hamilton: An American Musical" is a critically acclaimed new Broadway musical that originally premiered at The Public Theater in NYC before moving to Broadway due to its tremendous success. The show tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, a determined immigrant who played a pivotal role in shaping the United States as the $10 Founding Father. Throughout his tragically shortened life, Hamilton served as George Washington's main assistant, became the first Treasury Secretary of the United States, and left a lasting impact with his revolutionary ideas and actions. He was a devoted husband and father, but faced opposition and ultimately met his demise in a famous duel against Aaron Burr.
The "HAMILTON (ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING)" album is overseen by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson and Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter, both founding members of the acclaimed hip-hop group, The Roots. The music, lyrics, and book for "HAMILTON" were all created by the talented Lin Manuel Miranda, who also takes on the lead role in the musical. The production is directed by Thomas Kail, features choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and showcases music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. "HAMILTON" draws inspiration from the biography of Alexander Hamilton written by Ron Chernow.
